Hey there! I’m Kayli. I guess you’re here to find out if I’ll be a good fit for your photography needs! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 2018 with a diploma in photojournalism. I took this program not looking to enter the world of journalism, but to learn all of the practical and transferable skills it teaches. I completed a practicum placement with Candice Ward Photography (contract photographer for the WHL Calgary Hitmen, NLL Calgary Roughnecks, and WWCFL Calgary Rage). During this time, I learned how to best work for a team – what they want, and what they need.
I’m a crazy dog lady! I adopted my rescue dog Baxter (check him out on Instagram) in 2016 from AARCS. That dog is my partner in crime. We’re always either on some kind of adventure… or taking a nap. I also volunteer with AARCS photographing some of the adoptable animals, as professional photos often make a dog or cat more appealing to potential adopters. I wouldn’t have my boy without AARCS, so I love giving back to them.
I shoot with a very journalistic style in that I find interesting, creative ways to accurately document people and events. I don’t rely on filters and photoshop, but rather try to get things right the first time. That means you get your photos faster. I’m small and quiet, so I can capture moments without anyone even noticing. No more awkward poses – just great candids.
